Can you replace a window AC knob that is not sold anymore?
Yes. Mail us the broken knob, or the other knob from the same unit if the shafts match, and we print a replacement in ASA with the shaft fit matched. It is a simple part at from $95, design and a spare included. In metro Atlanta we can pick it up.
A window unit with a missing knob still works if you turn the shaft with pliers, which is how most people end up here. Knob parts for older window units are usually discontinued long before the unit wears out.
Why window unit knobs break
Window air conditioners sit in a sunny window, and the knobs face the sun all summer. The plastic yellows and goes brittle, and the thin skirt around the shaft splits. The shafts are usually a D shape or a half round, and on many units the fan knob and the thermostat knob use different shafts even though they look alike.
We print these knobs in ASA, which is UV stabilized, so the new knob does not go brittle in the window the way the original did.

How a window AC knob job goes
Send the brand and model from the label on the side of the unit and a photo of the bare shafts. Mail the broken knob, or the surviving knob if the shafts match. We measure the shaft, model the knob, print it, and check the fit before it ships with a spare.
